
The majority of renewable energy in Germany is now owned by citizens or farmers, and not utility companies. This totals ~$100 billion worth of private investment in renewable energy and accounts for 20% of all of Germany’s electrical power.
They produce 17GW a year from solar panels and wind turbines, compared to America’s incredibly embarrassing 3.6GW.
