In my humble opinion, the biggest problem in the US currently– and I’m sure a great deal of you will undoubtedly agree with me– is the level of extreme religiosity in the ranks of its government. The only thing that could probably hold a candle to it would be the countries economic issues surrounding the corruption and greed of the 1% and their corporations that have been ‘too big to fail’ (lol mmmm…).
Today we have people like this idiot John Hagee asking that atheists leave the USA if they’re not happy with the country. “They’re not wanted and won’t be missed”.
He also recites the mantra that ‘the US was built by Christians and is a Christian nation’, blah blah blah… Complete and utter bullshit. The founding fathers, some of whom I believe were Christian and some of whom were most assuredly atheists, were irrefutably secular–but clearly you’d have to have read the constitution to know that– and wanted in no way, shape or form for a religion, any religion (yeah that includes Christianity) to be able to muscle its way into government and gain advantage or power over any other religion or lack there of.
I hate these kinds of complete and utter morons who blatantly lie, to themselves as well as their unlucky ignorant followers, about reality in order to control others and gain power and wealth.
Imagine if all atheists did leave the US? You think it would be in better shape than it is currently? HA!
By the way, what a Christian message right? “If you don’t agree with us leave our country!” Then they’ll tear up in the following breath about Christians being persecuted in predominantly Islamic countries…
For any atheists in the US who intent to head John Hagee’s advice and decides to leave the country, please come to Australia! The more atheists we get here the better.
Dude are you stoned? Drunk maybe? Religious followers maybe confused, but where is the conection between atheists leaving US and the presumeable increase in std transfer and heightened crime rate. ITS A NONSEQUITER! Regarding the 10% increase in apparently anything perverse, either the author 1) actually believes that religious citizens are more dangerous or have a looser moral code to follow and will ravage out of control agaisnt eachother once the atheists are gone, 2)he struggles with math, or 3) is intentionally manipulating statistic to show an increase in crime when it would truely remain the same, however with fewer people living in US. Honestly all 3 options reflect negatively on atheists with rational minds.
I didn’t create that video, and merely showed it to stimulate thought about the consequences of having all atheists leave the US. The relationship between STD transfer I’d say would increase assuming kids aren’t taught about safe sex, don’t use condoms and other forms of contraceptions. Crime rate too would increase on average if you have 10% of the population leaving, when they account for only 0.25% of the criminals, on average you’ll be left with a higher ratio of criminals overall… Sort of explains itself doesn’t it? Religion doesn’t stop people from committing crime or having sex, or getting divorced. Conversely I’d be willing to bet that fewer atheists commit crimes, have unsafe sex and get divorced. I’d definitely argue that your 1) scenario is probably true. How many KKK groups or Nazi youth groups are run by atheists? How many atheists are using their positions in large corporations for raping young children? How many atheists are killing abortion doctors? The religious ‘think’ they live by an absolute, all-mighty moral code but most of the time they don’t even adhere to their own superstitious moral guidelines or else there’d be not a single Christian in jail…
I disagree with religion, and Christianity in particular, as a matter of principle BUT if they would only follow their own teachingsā¦
Yerp!
As Gandhi said, “I like your Christ. But I don’t like your Christians.”
Great post.
Thanks a lot mate
