I’m a post-grad evolutionary zoologist who’s also a passionate atheist, secularist, anti-theist, christ-mythicist, humanist, and all the rest. I’m passionate about all things science and the main reason I created this blog, alongside being about to rant about all things philosophy, politics, atheism and religion, was to propagate the magic of science!
Evolutionary geneticist, atheist, anti-theist, christ mythicist and caffeine junky!

Could you please explain your choice of blog title? I am flummoxed.

Definitely mate. Caudal comes from Caudum which is latin for tail. Caudal luring is when an animal uses its tail in order to attract and then capture its prey, snakes such as vipers are a good example of this. They have a thin tip to their tail that looks like a worm or grub and when they lie still under leaves and wriggle their tail it attracts lizards or other animals interested in an easy meal, then they get eaten by the snake! The Caudal Lure is a song by an Australian band called Karnivool and it has atheistic themes and refers to religion (specifically Catholicism I believe). So I see organised religion using numerous aspects of their faith to ‘lure’ in others to take up the same faith and fill the church, little do they realise they’re sheep flocking to the wolf. So I thought it was appropriate
I was so confused about what to buy, but this makes it undrstenadable.
I was listening to you on FreeThought radio, Imaginary Friends show. It was an entertaining show. But I think that you may seriously want to consider the arguments of William Lane Craig. A simple Youtube search will rock your world.
Hey mate, cheers and glad you enjoyed it. I’ll YouTube William now, but to make it a little easier, what is the context within which I should consider his arguments? Are you referring to something I said in an interview on the Imaginary Friends Show or my arguments above relating to religion and caudal luring? Cheers
Pete
Thank you for your reply. Nice site, by the way. Might I suggest a video on youtube titled “Debate – William Lane Craig vs Christopher Hitchens – Does God Exist?”. He starts about 12 minutes into the video.
Cheers! from NC, USA!

Loving this blog. Follow’d. Keep doin’ what you do!
Thank you kindly mate
Your blog is very interesting, but perhaps you should write more about what you believe and attack the beliefs of others less. I agreed with some of your attacks on Christianity and right wind politics, but questioned you motives for those attacks. Bloggers aren’t unbiased and usually we don;t try to be unbiased but it can help to see both sides of an argument; and acknowledge both sides. I often write about the opposite view to what I believe because it is so ridiculous… I’m not criticising, I’m saying you have potential to do so much more.
I really appreciate the comments mate, and will take it on board. I’ve still a great deal to learn and have room to improve no doubt. So even if it was criticism it’s welcomed all the same. I’ll try and better represent both sides in the future then my friend, or at least acknowledge the other side.
Many thanks.
Pete
I’ve signed up for your blog and am enjoying it. You may be interested in mine at http://www.leftchristianity.wordpress.com since you seem interested in the stories of religious people who have become atheists. I’m looking forward to reading your future posts.
